Welcome to The Annex, one of the most culturally diverse neighbourhoods in Toronto.
Over one hundred years old, The Annex is a charming neighbourhood. Its character is shown through stately homes and unique 'groovy' architecture as found in our Panorama Towers at 100 Spadina Avenue.
Young families, students, and business professionals love The Annex for its charm, access to local parks and entertainment, and convenience to the University of Toronto St. George Campus. Some of its more notable residents include Margaret Atwood, Ann-Marie MacDonald, and members of the rock band Sloan.
Music fans will enjoy Lee's Palace and the Dance Cave, Coda, and the Tranzac Club. Bars, pubs, and restaurants like the popular Insomnia Restaurant and Lounge, line Bloor Street West. There are also plenty of coffee shops and bistros including Ezra's Pound where you get a personal touch with each visit.
The shopping scene here is filled with clothing boutiques, jewelers, bookstores, and fresh food markets. The newly redesigned Mirvish Village Market will offer more shopping options and a great spot to check out new small businesses within the Honest Ed's Alley.
The University of Toronto's Athletic Centre and The Varsity Centre offer great facilities for staying in shape. Other community centres in the area include Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre, the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, and the Sir Winston Churchill Park Tennis Club.
With convenient transit options including bus, subway, and streetcar, travelling throughout the city is easy.
