Spring Cleaning...For Your Car!
Giving your car a thorough cleaning can be just as important as spring cleaning your apartment.
Our cars see a lot of dirt, grime, and salt over the winter and it's time for it to go!
You may think it's too difficult to clean your car while living in an apartment building, but it doesn't have to be. This spring, give your car a thorough cleaning with tips from Park Property Management.
Getting the exterior of your car washed and rinsed with just a bucket of water can be a little tricky. Waterless cleaners are an easy solution anyone can use. With Sans-Zo waterless car washing solution, you can give your car a deep clean, right in your own parking space, without a drop of water!
After the exterior is clean and shiny, it's time to get to work on the interior. This job can get a little messy, so if your car sits in an underground lot, take it outside to tackle the interior.
Clean all the garbage out (don't forget what's hiding in the glove box and other compartments) and then get to work on the floors. Remove the floor mats and shake them off outside. Vacuum the interior and the trunk using a hand-held battery powered vacuum. If you don't have a vacuum, a stiff hand broom will work. Make sure to clean the floor mats as well. For rubber floor mats, use a little of your waterless cleaner or wash them in the laundry tub.
Remove salt stains on the carpets by mixing a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water and spraying it on the stains, after a few minutes blot the area with a dry towel.
Microfiber cloths are perfect for cleaning the car. When moistened with just water, they lift dirt off surfaces and trap it within the cloth. When needed, a disinfecting cleaning wipe is great for heavily handled surfaces.
For those hard to reach areas, use a toothbrush to brush away dirt and a foam art brush to clean between the slats of the vents. Don't forget the cupholders! Wipe with a microfiber cloth to clean away spills and stains.
When you are done admiring your hard work, consider taking your car for a tune-up and replacing the wiper blades.
