Cambridge to Paris Rail Trail

The Grand River is a sight to see here in Cambridge, and the Cambridge to Paris Rail Trail helps you follow the river all the way to Paris! Perfect for cycling or hiking, the trail begins at 210 Water Street South, just five minutes from our Southwood Apartments. You can park your car in the parking lot and begin your trek along the fine gravel pathway. Plan your trip with this map of the entire trail!

 

Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory

Don't let a little summer rain spoil your fun. Head over to the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory, just ten minutes from our Queenston Road building and less than 20 minutes from our other Cambridge apartment buildings. This summer, the conservatory is hosting daily free guided tours with paid admission. There are also children's drop-in activities every day throughout the summer.

 

African Lion Safari

Going on safari is easy with the African Lion Safari, only 20 minutes from our Cambridge apartment buildings. Wake up the Wild is the Safari's latest tour, which allows you into the park before it opens for a personal guided tour with unforgettable animal encounters.

 

Shade's Mills

This expansive park is just minutes from our Cambridge apartment buildings and is filled with tons of activities to enjoy all summer long. On Wednesdays near the Trail Shelter you'll find a yoga class for everyone aged 10 and up. These classes are free with your Grand River Parks Membership and are available until September 5th.  You'll also find outdoor movies every Friday all summer, a great natural playground, tons of trails to explore, picnic areas, excellent fishing spots, and a beautiful sandy beach on the reservoir. When you want to get on the water, visit the Gatehouse to rent a canoe, kayak, or paddle board.
